A billing app and Tally: which, or both?

TallyPrime is accounting software most CAs know well; a billing app like HextaBook is built for the counter and the phone — quick GST invoices, stock, payment reminders on WhatsApp and an online store. Many businesses bill in an app and give their accountant the books in Tally. HextaBook exports the period's vouchers and ledgers as TallyPrime XML for exactly that.

Choose a billing app when

Several people bill at the counter or on the road.
You want invoices and reminders on WhatsApp.
You need POS, an online store or mobile billing.

Keep Tally when

Your CA does the books and filings in Tally.
You need Tally's payroll, cost centres or statutory reports beyond GST.

Using both

Bill in HextaBook; each month, Reports → Export to Tally makes a ZIP with the masters and vouchers for your accountant to import. HextaBook also has its own P&L, balance sheet and GST reports if you don't need Tally at all. TallyPrime is a trademark of Tally Solutions; HextaBook isn't affiliated with it.
