How to switch billing software
Pick a start date (the 1st of a month or quarter is easiest), export your parties, items with stock and past invoices from the old app, import them, check that customer and supplier balances and stock match, then bill in the new app from the start date while keeping the old one for reference.

Step by step
- Choose a start date — the 1st of a month or quarter keeps GST returns simple.
- Export customers and suppliers, items and stock, and invoices from the old app (Excel, CSV or its backup file).
- Import them and fix any rows the check flags.
- Compare each party's balance and your stock value with the old app on the start date.
- Set up your invoice numbering, logo, bank and UPI details and printer.
- Bill in the new app from the start date; keep the old one read-only for past records.
Switching to HextaBook
Settings → Import data reads Excel and CSV exports from myBillBook, Vyapar, TallyPrime, Zoho Books, Khatabook, Swipe or any spreadsheet, plus TallyPrime XML and Vyapar backup files. Every row is checked first, and an import can be undone.
Frequently asked questions
Should I switch in the middle of a GST period?
It works, but switching on the 1st of a month or quarter means one app holds each return period, which makes GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B easier.
Will my invoice numbers continue?
Yes. Imported invoices keep their numbers, and you can set the next number for new invoices.
