Stock and inventory: variants, batches, serial numbers and godowns

In HextaBook stock moves on its own: sales and challans take it out, purchases and returns put it back, and every change is in the item's stock history. Track sizes and colours as variants, medicines and food by batch and expiry, phones by IMEI, and stock in several godowns.

What you can track

Variants — one product in several sizes, colours or packs, each with its own code, barcode, price and stock.
Batches and expiry — stock by batch with manufacturing and expiry dates, and an alert before a batch expires.
Serial numbers and IMEI — each unit tracked from purchase to sale.
Two units — buy in boxes, sell in pieces (1 BOX = 12 PCS).
Godowns and branches — stock in each, with transfers between them.
Stock corrections — damaged, expired or lost stock, with the reason.

Know what to reorder

The item list shows stock value and low-stock items; owners and managers are notified when an item reaches its low-stock level. The stock summary report gives opening, in, out and closing quantity with value at purchase price.

Labels and prices

Print barcode labels on A4 sheets or a label printer (Silver and above). Give wholesale prices from a minimum quantity, set price lists for customer categories, and run time-bound offers.

Frequently asked questions

Does HextaBook support batch and expiry tracking for medical shops?

Yes. Turn on Batches & expiry in Settings → Items. Purchases record the batch, manufacturing and expiry dates, sales pick the batch, and HextaBook warns before a batch with stock expires.

Can I track stock in more than one godown?

Yes. Gold includes 3 godowns and Platinum unlimited. Each godown is also a branch you can bill from, and stock can be moved between them.
